sarah massie
Sarah is a freelance leadership and organisational development consultant, leadership coach and coach supervisor.
She has a special Interest in compassionate leadership through mindfulness, using organisational development to support psychologically safe cultures where individuals and teams flourish.
She has almost 30 years' experience in the NHS, including NHS East of England, where she was Head of Talent Management and Leadership Development and five years as a Senior Leadership Consultant at The King’s Fund.
EXPERIENCE
She began her career in hospital Pharmacy; her professional journey progressed from operations management to working at a strategic leadership level and leadership consultancy. Early on she developed a focus on education, professional standards and regulation.
Latterly, her work has focused on people and organisational development, compassionate leadership, quality improvement and the creation of effective strategic leadership capacity within the NHS.
As an experienced leader / manager, she brings both breadth and depth of understanding, and expertise in the challenges of working in
complex environments. Working with people at all levels, organisational, regional and national she is skilled at influencing across organisational boundaries, engaging and working with diverse stakeholders.
EDUCATION
She is qualified at Level B Intermediate Plus in British Psychological Society psychometric testing and is also accredited with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and the Association of Coaching Supervisors.
CHRIS BIRBECK
As an executive coach, Chris has a reputation for creating honest and meaningful coaching relationships which deliver on client focused outputs and longer-term outcomes. Naturally intuitive, he brings authenticity to the coaching space and co-creates and co-produces honest dialogue which enables the coaching client to feel supported, challenged and accountable for decisions and actions.
As a Leadership Associate for the NHS Leadership Academy, Chris is frequently involved in the coaching and leadership development of Executive and Board level clients. He is a coaching supervisor for the Ambition Institute, a national organisation which provides leadership development to Head Teachers and senior leaders, working in challenged schools and academies. He is a Trustee for the Hornchurch Academy Trust.
Chris is a Team Coach and a Coaching Supervisor. He is accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council as an executive coach and a supervisor. He is also a member of the Association of Coaching Supervisors.
Chris is an experienced senior leader and was a registered nurse for 36 years. He has taken senior leadership roles in educational and clinical quality, service transformation and the development of leaders.
Chris has a passionate interest in quality and improvement, working for large, strategic and complex organisations to drive quality to the top of the Board agendas. Chris was the leading member of the NHS East of England Leadership team, delivering the highly successful Approach to Leadership and Talent Management, spear-heading the development of Chief Executives and senior clinical leaders.
EDUCATION
Certificate in International Healthcare Management from Yale University.
MSc from Westminster University in Evaluation in Clinical Practice, Research and Audit.
Chris is an Honorary Visiting Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University (MBA Programme)
